We are able to undertake surveys of cavities to properties, checking for the presence of Cavity Wall Insulation and it’s condition. Whilst surveying this, we are also able to survey the condition of wall ties and flues passing through the cavity. A report of this survey is prepared, along with any recommendations regarding removal of CWI that has got damp, broken down and deteriorated. When instructed, we can then remove the existing CWI and replace with new injected Bonded Bead Cavity Wall Insulation, with a BDA Certificate and which is a grey, spherical, closed cell, carbon enhanced expanded polystyrene bead.

Many of our Clients instruct us to undertake the whole of the outside refurbishment works as Principal Contractor, rather than just the EWI. We have a Roofing Manager, Chris Flood who has many year’s experience in roofing works, and oversees the roofing element of works on all of the projects, working alongside the site manager’s, to ensure that the works are completed in accordance with the system specification and industry standards. We are approved installers of a number of roofing systems, including Marley, Metrotile, Garland, Redland, Icopal, and Alumasc Roofing Systems. As an accredited member of Competent Roofer, we are then able to self-certify the works and gain a Building Regulations Compliance Certificate and insurance backed guarantee (on works up to £50k) as part of the sign off process.

We are able to remove and replace existing windows and external doors to the properties that we are working on, as part of the refurbishment works. Replacing windows with BFRC A+ Energy rated windows, with uPVC frames to the requirements of the Client. Doors in a selection of designs and colours are offered from our approved suppliers and our in-house fitters install these, making good before the EWI is installed. As an accredited member of FENSA we are able to self-certify the installations and get a Building Regulations Compliance Certificate and insurance backed guarantee as part of the sign off process.

WML have undertaken a number of kitchen and bathroom refurbishments on behalf of councils and housing associations. Typically the council or HA will approve a number of finishes and configurations from a chosen supplier and we will then liaise with the tenant to get their choice of finishes and colour schemes from the range on offer. When their choices have been made, our approved supplier will make a bespoke set of images and drawings of the kitchen or bathroom plan for that property, with a to-scale drawing showing the selected cabinets and fittings set out from a birds eye view, as well as a computer generated images, in colour, of the installed components from different angles within the room. The tenant is then asked to view and approve these images, having made any changes they wish to make at that time. This enables the tenant to feel part of the decision process, ensure that their specific needs are met and get a visual impression of what the finished works will look like in their home.
